As a true Floridian, Ms. Vicki Wynns was born in Jacksonville and raised in Sumter County, Florida. In 1984, she received an A.S. Degree in Nursing from Central Florida Community College in Ocala, Florida. She later earned an A.A. Degree from Lake Sumter Community College in 2000, followed by a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Central Florida in 2001. Committed to advancing her expertise, she also holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Western Governors U.

Jessica Duteau is a lifelong resident of Sumter County, Florida, where she was born, raised, and educated through the Sumter County School District. As a graduating senior, she was honored to receive a scholarship from the Sumter County Scholarship Foundation, an opportunity that helped shape her future. She went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from St. Leo University.

Buffy Gedeist is a lifelong Sumter County resident, South Sumter High School graduate, & former classroom teacher at South Sumter Middle School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Saint Leo University and currently serves as Teacher on Special Assignment for Sumter County Schools. A recipient of Foundation scholarships in 2010, Buffy knows firsthand the impact of community support. Through her work with the Foundation, she is dedicated to giving back to students of SCSD.

Maria Gonzalez has been in banking for 33 years. I have been with SouthState Bank for 27 years. My role with SouthState Bank is VP Branch Manager. I love helping people succeed, whether it’s reaching financial goals, solving problems, or supporting team growth. Passionate about building relationships, delivering great customer experiences, and making a positive impact in the community.

Brian Naczi is proud to serve the students and families of Sumter County as a member of the Sumter County School Board. He is committed to supporting academic excellence, responsible financial stewardship, and opportunities that help all students succeed. Professionally, Brian serves as the Service Center Manager for Suncoast Credit Union in Bushnell. He has been with Suncoast Credit Union for more than 11 years, building a career centered on leadership, service, and community engagement.

Dr. Allen Phelps is a retired professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis and resident of The Villages. To improve students’ success after high school, he has helped develop the Jump Start Scholarship Program at WMHS.

Jeremy Wallen is a Sumter County resident, entrepreneur, and dedicated community member. Alongside his wife, he has proudly co-owned a Kona Ice franchise since 2021, bringing smiles and refreshing treats to schools, community events, fundraisers, and local organizations throughout the area. In 2022, Jeremy expanded his passion for the outdoors by launching his own fishing charter business, allowing him to share his love of fishing with others while showcasing Florida’s beautiful waterways.
